Fireworks Night -The year end song

The year 2020 is coming to a close.
Needless to say, 2020 was a tough year for everyone.

It was a tough year for us, too. But at the same time, we were more productive than ever.

We finally finished making “Nabeshima” album. (Hopefully we will release it next year.)
We made an acoustic EP and released it.
We made a secret side project EP. (We will announce when it’s ready.)
We started Patreon and recorded monthly songs every month.
We were featured in a popular YouTube movie.
We released a collaboration song with an American rapper.
We did a Japanese National Anthem Christian Metal Version with duo style.
We made some music videos, too.

Now here is the song called “Fireworks Night”.
In Japanese, we call it “花火の価値”.

It’s a song I wrote as a Patreon Monthly Song.
We made 3 versions: Japanese version, English version, and English in higher voice.

Because we have 3 versions, we decided to share one of them with public. (The other versions are Patreon exclusive.)

We were not sure which one we should post, but we decided to go with the Japanese version. Just because it’s more natural and it has more feeling to it.

This is a quiet, calming song that has some “year end / new year” vibe to it.

As usual with our monthly song project, we did a simple easy home made video. It’s a cheap movie done in the kitchen of our small apartment, but I like the indie vibe.

This song is our year end greeting to you.
I hope this song will bring some peace to you.

If you like the song, English versions are available on Patreon. I think English versions are equally tasty. I’m glad if you support us on Patreon.

For this year 2020, we did most of our activities without Koji, our drummer. But now we are talking with him on email and we will find out what we can do for 2021.

I really hope we can play music as a band again next year.

Here is the Japanese lyrics and English translation.

“Fireworks Night”

Man is a creature that keeps forgetting
The festivity is over
Fireworks fly in the sky

All that fuss and mess
When it’s over nothing has changed
everything is the same
exactly the same

People shouting and chanting at the fireworks in the sky
at the flashing laser beams
at the sound of the kick drums

People watching the stage hoping for a change
Hoping for a miracle
for a one night miracle
Hoping for a miracle
for the one night miracle yeah

But those miracles are happening everyday when no one is watching
where no one makes cellphone movies
They are just too big to see
People don’t really notice
They just walk on by
to go back to their life
Laughing and smiling
As if nothing has happened
and they say nothing has happened

Man is a creature that keeps forgetting
We make the very same mistakes every single time

The hardest thing in life is to realize
That how happy we are at this very moment

It is worth shooting fire flowers in the sky – just to remember that
To see our own mistakes and our sins forgiven

It is worth shooting fire flowers in the sky in my humble opinion
Just to realize
Just to remember
Just to rediscover the same thing again and again

But the most important things in this world
They are done long before – Very long time back
God’s plan takes a long long time
People don’t really notice
They just walk on by
to go back to their every day life
Laughing and smiling
As if nothing has happened
and they say nothing has happened

Man is a creature that keeps forgetting
We are a creature that can be happy
I guess things are alright
