Let me tell you about the price of our music.
Just like I told you, we finally posted “Nabeshima” album on our band camp.
But did yo know that we were selling our albums at $1 on Bandcamp?
That is because Bandcamp is the only place where we have a control over price setting.
(I’m talking about the digital downloads. Not about physical CDs.)
Since July 2020, we have been implementing “Everything $1 policy”.
I wrote the reasons for this before. It was because “I’m already dead”.
We don’t know if it’s right or wrong, if you think about business.
You might think selling stuff at $1 is easy, but I guess in reality we are choosing the hard way.
Because you have to define the value of art for yourself. That is not always easy for people to do.
But we still think it’s the right thing to do, especially when you consider the nature of our music.
(We are happy if you buy our album at $1. We are just hoping you will love the music regardless of the price.)
We believe money is just a number when you think of something like art, life, and love. Real value, or happiness, is not in numbers.
We believe people can still find love in $1 music.
However this $1 policy does not apply to “Nabeshima” album, simply because it is released from a record company. Because it would be against business moral if we sell it at a cheap price. At least for now.
I don’t know. Maybe in the future, we may be able to apply $1 policy to this album, too. Maybe $2, because it’s a double album.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you and God bless you!!
