[Legacy Album post] Victory In Christ

[Legacy album post]

“Victory In Christ” is our debut album.

No, it’s not really our first album.
Because we are making music independently, sometimes we don’t know what was our “first” album.

But we can say “Victory In Christ” is our actual “debut” as a Christian rock band.

It was the first album made by our long time lineup (classic lineup): [Tak, Hassy, Jake].
It was recorded in late 2009 and early 2010, and released sometime in 2010.

Sometimes people ask us which album they should listen to first, because we have so many albums.

If you want to listen to “Heavy Metal” album, we recommend “Jesus Wind” (2017).
If you want something mainstream, we recommend “Japanese Pop” (2007).
If you want to know our cultural&spiritual roots, we recommend “Nabeshima” (2021).

However, if you want something fresh, something pure, and something full of passion, we still recommend “Victory In Christ”.

It has young energy, spiritual inspirations, and pure joy of rock’n’roll.
It’s a statement from Imari Tones. It represents what we are: The Christian heavy metal band from Japan.
We feel it’s appropriate to call it “our debut album as a Christian metal band”.

Our Faith was strong and fresh. We were spiritually on fire.
You can hear the purest energy of Imari Tones on this album.

Musically, it’s based on 1980’s hard rock and heavy metal. (as always😉)
However, at the same time, you can hear the influence from 2000’s indie rock and garage rock. That makes us sound a little different from regular heavy metal bands.
(We always say we were actually an indie-alternative band from 2000’s but our love for 1980’s metal was too strong to hide😆)

This album contains one of our most popular songs “Faith Rider”, that always makes the highlight of our live shows.

Also another fan favorite “Love Is To Do Something No One Dares To Do”, an indie rock ballad about love and compassion.

When we listen to this album now, we are surprised that this album has some very special moments and songs: what people call “deep cuts”.

“I Want A Revival” is a beautiful moment in the style of acoustic indie rock.
“Simple” is a progressive metal song in a totally unexpected way.
“A Bow And An Arrow” is an emotional hard rock ballad that is about the spiritual bond between father, mother, and son.

We are unique. We are different. And we are not afraid to be different.
That’s why we started Christian Heavy Metal for the first time in Japan.
We look, and sound different.
We don’t care about success. We are just passionate about spreading the message of love.

On this album, we went 100% with what we believed in.
It represents what we are, as a Japanese hard rock band.

Hi David, thank you. Yes! “Kodomo Metal” is the result of my young energy and musical passion. I’m still very proud of it. That album should be on the list for sure😀
