Once again, this is a personal post. (We hope you’ll like it😉)
As I’ve mentioned before, this year is a very special anniversary year for Tak&Marie.
Thirty years ago, in 1995, Tak and Marie met when they were in high school.
Looking back, that was really the beginning of Imari Tones.
(Like we’ve said before, we’re actually older than we look!)
The occasion that brought them together was the Tanabata festival.
If you’re familiar with Japanese traditions, you might know about it.
Tanabata is a seasonal celebration in Japan, based on an ancient Chinese legend about two stars in the night sky who fall in love across the Milky Way—a grand, space-themed love story.
It’s a romantic day for couples, like something out of ancient sci-fi folklore.
In Japan, on Tanabata, people write wishes on paper strips called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo branches.
When Marie was a first-year high school student, she wrote on her tanzaku: “I want to play music in a rock band.”
Tak happened to see that wish and decided to talk to her. That was how the two of them became close.
Ever since, Tak and Marie have celebrated July 7th, Tanabata, every year as an important anniversary.
And this year marks 30 years since that Tanabata that brought them together.
But that’s not all.
In Japanese era calendar terms, the Tanabata when they met in 1995 was Heisei 7, July 7th—in other words, a perfect “7-7-7.”
And this year, in 2025, Tanabata again falls on Reiwa 7, July 7th—once more, a perfect 7-7-7 to mark their 30th anniversary.
The day Marie wrote her wish to play music in a rock band on that little piece of paper was truly the start of their rock’n’roll life.
But when they see this kind of numerical coincidence, it feels as if God had been guiding them from the very beginning toward playing Christian metal!
Interestingly enough, Tak and Marie now live in a town called Milky Way.
To celebrate this “777” anniversary, they stopped by Milky Way Train Station to take a selfie.
And for the first time in 30 years, they wrote their Tanabata wishes again on tanzaku.
We can say our life is full of love and blessings.
May God’s blessings and abundant happiness fill your life too!
