One of the greatest guitarists of all time, Peter Green.
Rest In Peace.
I’m not gonna say I’m a long time fan.
I fell in love with his music (early Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers) back in 2015, probably because I started playing Les Paul guitar in the previous year.
I was blown away by his Sound, his Edge, and his Attitude toward Blues.
If you ask me, while Eddie Van Halen is the guitarist I loved as a teenager, Peter Green is THE guitarist I revered most as an adult.
If you listen to “Nabeshima”, our upcoming double album, his influence is apparent. You can hear Peter’s influence on songs like “Sakura Night”, “Redemption”, and “The Garden”.
One thing I like to point out is he was a pioneer in many genres and sounds. To me, Peter Green is not only a great blues player, but also a great heavy metal player, playing heavy songs such as “Green Manalishi” and “Rattlesnake Shake”.
It was 1968, 1969, 1970 and he was already playing Heavy Metal, Indie Rock, Post Rock, Alternative and more. It’s just unbelievable.
People call me a heavy metal musician but to me it was always blues. That does not mean musical style but the attitude. Searching one’s own soul and roots.
“For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.” (1Timothy 4:10)
